We talked to customers and learned that folks are super busy the month of September. Summer is over, it’s back to school season, and people are coming back from vacations. It’s especially chaotic for parents. In response, we put together 5 super easy recipes that only required a few ingredients. The article, the recipes, and the newsletter were so successful we ended up selling out of all the ingredients for several of the recipes within a day. I worked on all the content with the Art Director, Recipe Developer, Photographer, and Marketing Coordinator.
Winning subject Line: The most elegant dessert, ready in 5 minutes 🍓

Sneaky text: We’ll be eating these Chimichurri Chicken Tacos every day until next year. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

This campaign was all about our FAQs. Our customers were always asking for recipes that use food scraps, tips on how to decipher date labels, and info on how to compost. Here’s the link to the hero article seen below.

Winning subject line: What’s the deal with expiration dates? 🧐

 Banners

Class Dojo Example

Class Dojo was one of my recent freelance clients. I worked with them on email copy and UX copy in the interim period before their new Head of Brand started. This banner was for the teacher side of the app and part of a campaign to build excitement for a new feature: Staff messaging. Teachers were VERY excited.

I don’t have a screenshot of it, but the best performing banner I made at Imperfect read, “It’s the deal of the hentury! Get 30% off all Cooks Venture chicken.” CTA: Start shopping

The banner had a super high click rate and we sold out of most of the chicken. Below is a visual of a current banner on the site to help you imagine it. For more context, here is the article I wrote that accompanied the “Deal of the Hentury” campaign. It had about 75,000 reads and 34 comments.
